After over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, Todd Grantham has developed a practice that specializes in helping business owners and professionals plan for and achieve their long term goals while protecting those they love along the way.
Todd graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration where he walked on and competed for a nationally ranked wrestling team. Grantham planned to go to MBA School to continue his education in business. His plans soon changed when he realized his greatest joy came from forming relationships with clients and helping them achieve financial security. Grantham moved his practice to Northwestern Mutual in 1996 and grew his financial planning practice with the company. Grantham is a long-time qualifying member of MDRT, achieving the honor of Court of the Table.
In 2012, Grantham completed his Master’s degree in Financial Services (MSFS) from the American College. In addition to his MSFS, he also has earned his CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, ChSNC, and CASL® professional designations and was named NAIFA-NC’s 2014 Advisor of the Year. He is now a Wealth Management Advisor and heads up a full financial planning team in the Durham-Chapel Hill office. Grantham supports both St. Baldrick’s and Alex’s Lemonade Stand in their fights against childhood cancer.
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) has long been a passion for Grantham. A graduate of NAIFA- NC’s very first LILI class he been driven to support the industry and his clients. He has served as the President of his local three times, National Committeeman for years and was honored as NAIFA-Triangle’s Advisor of the year in 2002. At the state level, Grantham served as President in 2008-2009, PAC chair, board member and was the 2014 Advisor of the year. Additionally Grantham has served at the National level on the YAT, Member Benefits, and IFAPAC committees. Most recently, he was invited to join NAIFA’s Think Tank to look at critical needs for moving NAIFA forward.
Grantham has resided in Durham since 1991 where he stays involved in the community by coaching wrestling at Triangle area schools. He and his wife Robyn, a teacher in Wake County, have four daughters between them: Hannah, Erin, Drew and Emily. Todd enjoys sports, playing golf, and being outdoors. Weekends, out of wrestling season of course, are often spent at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, or at the beach in Ocean Isle, where his father is a long-time city councilman.
